I'd be interested to hear about supplementation and your thoughts about the multi billion dollar industry that it is. Good for you or just really expensive piss ?
Yes!! totally agree with Xavier.
I would love to hear your view on supplements. Which ones are worth it, which ones are BS, ingredients to look for when buying certain things.
thanks guys, I will definitely post something regarding supplementation. While it is not something that i am an expert on, I do have my opinions based on experience and recent research.
A few things that I would like to see you cover.
1. some routines for club bells
2. any exercises for elbow shoulder rehab? I broke my radial head a few years ago and my elbow/shoulder is still not 100% I have been using indian clubs in my warm up and it has really helped but I was wondering if you had any other ideas
Also an something about periodization
I I am doing a body split routine (one body part per day) for 30 minutes a day.
3 rounds of work with jumprope and some type of swings between rounds for 6 days a week. What are your feelings on changing intensities?
Thanks for all your info.
I have a few pairs of Indian Clubs, I use them almost never. I think they are great for mobility and recovery if used properly and consistently. I, however, do not use them regularly. I do have some friends that use them. I will post some info on them soon, but in the meantime, check out www.mymadmethods.com or Mbody strength for some clubbell and indian club ideas. If you want a good DVD to learn the right way to use them, I recommend a dvd from Dr. Ed Thomas, he is the man. Find something cheap on Amazon or something like that.
Also, for a great resource on feeling better after injuries, Kelley Staretts Mobility Project is a wonderful resource.
Again, I don't do too much rehab work, I am learning a lot about that lately, but I am not a physical therapist. I can show a few quick exercises soon on shoulder therapy and how to use bands for traction and stretching. I highly recommend MWod and Dick Hartzell for rehabbing with bands and feeling better to exercise more intensely.
Hi Matt, loving the new members area. I would like to hear your views on Crossfit. Do you think it can be worthwhile for athletes or is it not specific enough? do you use any crossfit methods in your own or your clients training? Just would like to know as i've been playing about with it the last while and am wondering if it's worth keeping up to better my performance in rugby.
